CMMI ver 1.2:

Mr Lavania has thorough knowledge of not only CMMI ver 1.2 but CMMI ver 1.1 and CMM. The content of the course material is elaborate and simple so that any one can understand it very easily.  He has enormous practical knowledge which adds value in understanding the subject in depth and also clarifying the audience’s queries. His presentation skill is excellent which keeps the trainees alert throughout the training session.

He has in-depth knowledge of each and every 22 process areas of CMMI. He does  not move to the next process area until and unless all the queries are answered.

Internal Auditor's Training:  

This is very informative wrt to conducting audits as it tells about the Do's and Don’ts for the auditors. How one should behave and talk with auditees during the audit, what type of questions to be asked and what not to be asked, not to criticize the person, the internal audit should be a value added exercise and not fault finding exercise. Audit to be completed in the allotted time frame, e.t.c…

The most interesting part of the training was conducting two mock audits. This helps in understanding the practical aspect of the audits and then discussing the audit reports, what went well and what went wrong etc. 

CSQA:

Mr Lavania formed study groups for the CSQA exams and was instrumental in conducting the classes. We studied complete book chapter by chapter in his presence and he had been giving us all necessary inputs.  He gave all necessary and useful tips for clearing the exams. 

I think without his guidance and inputs, I would never have cleared the CSQA exam.

Metrics:

This is one of his favourite subjects. He leaves no stone unturned to explain the importance and usefulness of the metrics for software projects and the organization. He educated us with metrics  formulae and how the metrics can be put in use, how to capture the relevant data to measure the metrics after setting the tone during initial GQM sessions……..April 02, 2008.
